I received a suspicious message

  1. Do not click, reply or call a number provided only in the message.
  2. Check the organisation through its official app or a trusted address.
  3. Forward suspicious texts to 7726 and emails to report@phishing.gov.uk.
  4. Delete the message after preserving anything you may need as evidence.

  1. Slow the situation down and avoid blame.
  2. Ask what happened, what was shared and whether any money moved.
  3. Help them contact the bank or provider through a trusted route.
  4. Write down the next actions so the person does not have to remember everything at once.
